Coming Up With Interactive Digital Signage Content
One of the most important steps in building an interactive digital signage solution for your business is deciding on the creative content. Content in its basic form is simply what you are displaying on the screens that you want your audience to know. To maximize your reach and efforts you must provide the right digital signage content, at the right time, to the right audience. If one of these three segments are missing, you’re potentially wasting your time and your marketing dollars.
The first thing you need to do when “coming up with interactive digital signage content” is determine what message you wish to convey. Are you marketing a product or service? Are you trying to educate? Or are you simply providing an entertainment experience? Once you identify what it is that you are trying to convey then you must establish a creative brief. A creative brief is a simple yet detailed outline that provides the designer a direction of what your expectations are for the content. In this creative brief you should provide the following:
Background Summary – Who’s your audience? What is the product or service? What are you hoping to accomplish with this piece and “the emotional take-way” you want your audience to have.
Main & Sub Messaging – Do you have a headline in mind and a Sub headline that speaks to your audience and quickly captures there attention?
Creative Direction – What are you hoping for the look and feel of this piece? Edgy, warm, bold, trend-setting, inspirational, elegant?
Emotional take-away – What are you hoping the audience feels after they view your content? Inspired, knowledgeable, eager, encouraged?
Contact Information – address, phone, website, social feeds, etc (if applicable for the piece)
So how do you come up with the right content once your creative brief is done? You basically have 3 options:
- Create your own content
- Hire a digital signage integrator that creates content for you
- Buy content that has been already created
Each of the three options has its strengths and advantages and that is why we will be discussing in future posts so stay tuned!
